Across the entire fleet of Celebrity Cruises ships positioned around the world – from the Caribbean to Australia, and in all global offices - Celebrity will ‘Ring the Bell on the 7 Seas’ in honor of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2018, celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The campaign was born in partnership with the Red Shoe Movement in support of their Gender Equality Global Initiative. A special bell ringing ceremony was hosted by Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises, on Celebrity Summit, with the ship’s executive team and the Founder and CEO of the Red Shoe Movement, Mariela Dabbah, in attendance. Each Celebrity ship and the global offices around the world then followed with their own ceremony.

Celebrity Cruises is celebrating International Women's Day this year with a first-of-its-kind sailing. On March 8th, 2020 Celebrity Edge set sail with the first entirely female bridge and officer team. This crew is made up of 25 women and represents 17 different countries. Captain Kate McCue has expressed how proud of her team as well as how honored she is to be part of the historic sailing that is to come. Onboard there will be female change makers, trail blazers in their respective fields including artists, designers and sports professionals among other inspiring women hosting various events, on top of the countless activities offered on the ship. Celebrity Edge is a modern luxury ship with unmatchable experiences and amazing service that only Celebrity Cruises can provide.
